A knittin' and a purlin'
Okay well there really isn't much purling going on but a whole lot of knitting. :) I finished the hat for my boss' husband. Voila!:
He's a simple guy (according to her... I've never actually met him) so I went with a simple color scheme and pattern. Done in a flash!
I'm also making some good progress on my socks. No piccies as the camera batteries are charging but I'm very nearly ready to turn the heel on the second sock. I think I'm going to run out of yarn though. It's okay as these are just scrap socks anyway so I'll just use some other sock yarn I have left over when I run out of this colorway.
While I was knitting, I got a phone call from a friend of mine so I paused the tv (I love DVR!) and congratulated her on her new job. When I hung up the phone I looked back up and realized I had caught this:
I don't know what it is about this commercial but I really can't stand it. It's for this rug cleaner, you know the one where they say "Squeeze, rub, groom and done!" Makes me want to clap my hands over my ears and scream "Lalalalala! I can't hear you!" the entire time the commercial is on. And you can tell by the looks on the actresses' faces, they can't stand it either! You can tell on the one on the right's face that if she has to say "Squeeze, rub, groom and done" one more time, she'll probably go postal. I have no idea who makes this product but it bothers me on so many levels. More so than the spongemokeys from those Quizno's commercials. Those things just creeped me out. They never made me want to buy a sub.
Besides trying to get that awful jingle out of my head, not much else is going on. Well that's not true. I've decided to go back to college. Yup. Gonna work on my degree in Forensic Biology. Yup. I wanna be a crime scene technician. I want to be part of the police force but I'm not interested in walking the beat if you know what I mean. I have no real desire to get shot at. *shakes head* Nope. But I've got no problem showing up once everyone is dead. *shrug* Morbid? Most likely. But I've always been fascinated by it and well, it had always been my number two when I was in college originally... in 1992. If I couldn't get into vet school for whatever reason, I would stay, get my Masters in Biology/Forensics and join the State Police or the FBI. So I applied to Guilford College in Greensboro. It's one of the best schools in the nation for Forensic Biology. I wish UNC had the program because, well... I wouldn't have to pay to go to school but since I work for UNC, and Guilford is a college in North Carolina, UNC will help me pay for it if I get accepted. So cross you fingers for me! I won't know for some time if I'm accepted. I hope I get in. :)
Well time to go. I've got some stuff to do around the house and then going to have a drink. It's mine and Eric's eighth wedding anniversary today. Too bad he's not home. :( He's out on a trip right now... flying somewhere above me. But he'll be home Thursday evening so we're going to celebrate then.
